Some Frequently Asked Questions About Fused Glass:

What is fused glass ?

Kiln-forming as a technique to shape glass was in use for centuries before the Romans developed glassblowing.  I use modern-day technology to create my designs using these ancient methods.    Click here for more details.

How is it made ?

Designs are cut from flat sheets of glass.  They are then assembled into the design and fused in a kiln.  Subsequent operations slump the glass into its final shape and anneal it for durability.   Click here for more details.

Why does it cost more ?

Fusible glass expands at a specific rate to avoid cracking during firing.  Producing a "compatible" glass suitable for fusing is an intensive process that increases the production costs of raw material.   Click here for more details.
